Mawamba Lodge
"A tropical hotel in the heartland of the Rainforest"

Located in the Tortuguero Canals and close to the Tortuguero National park in the North Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, Mawamba Lodge offers a true nature experience. With an unbeatable location, on a strip of land between the Tortuguero Lagoon and the Caribbean Ocean, and with direct access to the Tortuguero town, Mawamba Lodge offers unique services, including:

• Daily departures from San Jose to Tortuguero with no minimum of passengers. Our trips include transportation, lodging, all meals and tours in the area according to package selected.
• “Mawamba Park” in our Lodge’s grounds with two butterfly gardens, frog and iguana gardens as well as the only Bio digester in Tortuguero that treats our sewage waters to convert them into a natural source of gas to heat up our stoves.
• Free WI-FI service in our cafeteria & bar.
• Relaxing areas to enjoy on your free time: Swimming pool & whirlpool, bar, cafeteria, gardens, foosball, pool table and volleyball sand court).
• Katonga floating restaurant: A unique feature of Mawamba Lodge. We arrange dinners / sunset tours and private events on board of our floating restaurant while enjoying the canals.
• Optional tours including: Kayaking, fishing, spa services, and night hiking tours.

Trogon Lodge
"A mountain Lodge in the Cloud forest of Savegre Valley"

At an altitude of 7,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by dazzling flowers, centennial oak trees, and surrounded by the unspoiled ecology of the area, Trogon Lodge is sanctuary for more than 175 of identified bird species, including the famous and beautiful Resplendent Quetzal; it is also a wonderful hideaway for this seeking for a relaxing, quiet, peaceful and delightful vacation.

Trogon Lodge services include:

• Restaurant with outside balcony offering views of the gardens and trout pond.
• Nature trails for self-guided or guided tours, canopy tour, horseback riding and early morning guided birding tours.
• Gardens with a great showcase of local flora.
• Bar area with pool table, personalized service and a nice view of the Savegre river that crosses through the property.

At just 2 hours from San Jose, Trogon Lodge is a great starting point for a Southern Costa Rica discovery trip, being close to Manuel Antonio, Dominical, Uvita, Perez Zeledon, San Isidro del General, Golfito and many others.

Rio Danta Restaurant & Private Reserve

In the boundaries of Braulio Carrillo National Park, in the town of Guapiles, Rio Danta is our meal stop for trips going/coming to/from Tortuguero and Mawamba Lodge. It is also a good option for private groups visiting the area.
