Río Danta began operation in 1995 with the purpose of attending the tourists going to/from the company-owned Mawamba Lodge in Tortuguero, in order to offer a private and tranquil stop en route. Río Danta now also attends groups, individuals and even Cruise Line passengers, visiting the Atlantic side of the country.
The Restaurant offers open views to the gardens and the River, providing a great opportunity to admire the flora of the area, as well as the different birds that abound. It has a capacity for 150 people. Also it features a bar, parking lot and direct access to the nature trails.
One of the main attractions of the Restaurant is the fact that it also has a Private Reserve. Through 08 hectares of marked nature trails, visitors can observe the primary forest, with impressive plant life and colorful inhabitants such as the poison dart frogs, very usual in this area. The trails are very well kept for a tranquil stroll in the Reserve.
The magnificent gardens are home to different species of tropical plants, including heliconias, bromeliads, gingers, palm trees, beautiful ginger torn and many others.
